Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges has a long and active history dating back 1884. Two brothers, Francisco and António Borges established at that time a company for Port Wines and a bank. All through the years, this Company 'headquarters originally located in Vila Nova de Gaia, became the centre of a winery empire, enriched with a complete range of DOC wines from the most traditional and old wine producing regions in Portugal: Port Wine ("Roncão", "Soalheira", "Borges"), Douro ("Borges", "Quinta da Soalheira", "Lello"), Vinho Verde ("Quinta de Simaens", "Borges", "Gatão", "Vilancete"), Dão ("Borges", "Quinta de S. Simão da Aguieira", "Meia Encosta"), Rosés ("Trovador") and Sparkling Wine ("Real Senhor", "Fita Azul").


Today, and since 1998, it is integrated in JMV, a family group of entirely Portuguese capitals, to which belongs the company which, since many years ago, is the most important distributor for Borges products in Portugal. In 2000, its headquarters were transferred to Rio Tinto (Gondomar), where the offices and the finished product warehouse are occupying a beautiful classified building, from the beginning of the XX century.
As a result of its work the Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges is proud of the successful expansion of its business activities, clearly expressed in the annual sales of 6 million bottles, 50% of which are exported to over 50 countries from the five continents - where BORGES is a guarantee of quality consistency both in supplying products and customer service.
