Just a few kilometres away from Beja town, one of the most ambitious projects in viniculture has arised. Records do not lie and prove that there are vines planted in these lands for almost thirty years. There are 135 hectares with old and new vines, representing about 10% of the total area of the Estate of Mingorra, the Agricultural Society of Barrinho and the Estate of Pelados. These properties not only live together by the limits of their lands, but also have in common the administrator: Henrique Uva, the mentor of this integrated project. Although the history of the Mingorra Estate is already a long one, only in 1998 the first steps as a wine producer were taken, with the clear purpose of evaluating the raw material as a potential one. The first fruits of this work entered the national market in 2005, namely with these brands: “Terras de Uva 2004” red and white wine; “Alfaraz Rosé Aragonês 2004”; “Alfaraz Branco Reserva 2004”; “Alfaraz Tinto 2004” and “Alfaraz Reserva Tinto 2003”.
